Policeman's Car Shot At In Santa Cruz
Policeman's car shot at in Santa Cruz
An off-duty police officer was able to escape serious wounding when the car he was driving was shot at by assailants in Santa Cruz on Monday night.
Sources confirmed to ADD News TT that the policeman who is currently on suspension was driving a black Baic X25 car on Saddle Road, lower Santa Cruz, near Stollmeyer Estate, at around 11:20 PM when he observed a car flashing its headlights behind him.
The man pulled to the side to allow the vehicle behind to pass but heard gunshots and the sound of the back glass window breaking.
In an attempt to escape the shooter, the officer drove his car onto a bamboo patch where it became stuck.
He also exited the vehicle and escaped through a river to avoid being shot.
He later returned to the car and found bullet holes in the driver's side door.
PCs Pulido and Agaratt responded to the shooting and are investigating.

Man Kidnapped & Rescued
A "kidnapped" victim's desperate SOS in Valencia led to his rescue by police and Hunter's Search and Rescue Team.
Details of the incident are sketchy however Uncutt News Media understands that the victim was reportedly taken against his will from the Arima district.
He sent an SOS voice note indicating he needed help and was at a location at Farm Road in Valencia.
The Hunter's Search and Rescue Team led by Captain Vallence Ramharat responded along with officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Eastern Division and several searches were conducted at Farm Road where he was located.
The victim was subsequently taken for medical treatment for multiple injuries he sustained about the body and remains warded.
The exact circumstances surrounding the victim's alleged kidnapping remain unknown but we'd provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.
Investigations are continuing into the incident by officers of the Valencia and Arima Police Stations.

A woman was dosed with a pot of hot water by her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend in San Fernando.
The female victim reached out to Uncutt News Media about the incident that she said happened on April 24th, 2023 at Union Hall in San Fernando.
She said her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend identified as Adanna John aka Onika Joseph and Antoinette, broke into their home and assaulted her.
"I was cooking in the apartment, she came in through the back door cause the front was locked. I was by the sink cutting seasoning for the peas that were bursting and she started questioning me, then throw the pot of boiling water toward me.
"She threw a pot of boiling water on me and I receive burns about my face, chest, right ear, shoulder, both arms and neck.
"A report was made and the police and information gathered to apprehend her but she has been sending threats daily, mysteriously getting on to friends and family asking for a contact for me and my address. I'm very fearful for my life, the woman told Uncutt News Media earlier today.
The suspect is said to be employed with MTS security. PC Gaffar of the Southern Division is probing the incident.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the nearest Police Station.

Ammunition and Marijuana Seized at Central Bond
Quantities of marijuana and ammunition were seized in the Central Division yesterday, by officers of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), following information received from Customs and Excise Officers.
SIU officers proceeded to the Medway Transit Shed, Freeport, on Tuesday 9th May, 2023, where they met with Customs and Excise officials who reported that whilst emptying a barrel which arrived at the warehouse in July 2020, they discovered a brown plastic bag wrapped with bubble wrap.
Checks of the bag revealed eight boxes of 12 gauge cartridges.
Further checks of the barrel were conducted and three knapsacks containing a total of 3.2 kilogrammes of marijuana were discovered.
Investigations are ongoing into the matter.
