Vene stabbed by countryman

A Venezuelan national was stabbed in Carapo yesterday.

The victim told police that at about 9 pm on Thursday 11th May 2023, he was in the yard of his home along Unity Lane, Carapo, Arima when he was confronted by a man known to him.

The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim once to the chest, before fleeing the scene.

The victim was rushed to the Arima Hospital where he was treated.

His condition is said to be serious up to 9 am today.

Teenager ambushed in San Juan

A 17-year-old was shot in San Juan last night.

The victim told police he was walking along Church Hill, Off Maitagual Road, when at about 8 pm he was confronted by two men.

The suspects opened fire on him, hitting him on the left leg.

They then fled the scene.

A man whom the victim does not know rushed to his aid and was conveyed to the Eric William Medical Sciences Complex to seek medical treatment.

Body found in St Augustine ravine

A severed arm was found in St Augustine yesterday.

Around 3:20 pm on Thursday, police received intel that body parts were seen in a ravine at Mohammed Street, St. Augustine.

They responded and on their arrival at the corner of Mohammed Street and Gordon Street, St. Augustine they observed what appeared to be a human arm inside of a transparent plastic bag in a black plastic bag.

The District Medical Officer viewed the body part, made a pronouncement, issued a referral letter for a Post Mortem examination to be performed at the Forensic Science Centre and she ordered the removal of the body part.

Malabar man killed at home

Kerry Arcia, 39 years old, was fatally shot at his home on the corner of Hope Avenue and Trainline Road in Malabar on May 13th, 2023, at approximately 7:30 am. The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, but it is believed that the shooting occurred inside the victim's home.

The motives behind the shooting are still unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. There are currently no suspects in custody, but ADD News TT understands that officials are actively pursuing leads. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may aid in the investigation. The tragic event has left many in the community concerned about their safety and the safety of their loved ones.

Chinese national stabbed during home invasion

A brutal home invasion occurred at the '6+1 Supermarket' in Mc Bean, Couva, yesterday morning resulting in the stabbing of Chinese national, Zai Wang Chen. Three masked men, armed with objects resembling firearms, broke into the victim's living space and assaulted him, stabbing him with a knife, as they demanded access to the supermarket's money and goods. After ransacking the upper and lower levels of the building, the suspects fled in a white-colored Tonne and a half truck and a silver-colored Nissan vehicle. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds, and the entire building was ransacked with an undisclosed amount of cash, alcohol, and miscellaneous items stolen. PC Ramcharan and PC Mendoza visited the scene, and Cpl Chapdeosingh and WPC Wyke-Osbone processed the scene.

The victim was medically examined and later discharged. The investigation is ongoing, and police are searching for the suspects.

Man arrested in roadblock with gun

One man was arrested at a roadblock in Chase Village yesterday afternoon with a firearm.

On the afternoon of May 10th, 2023, an investigation led by PC Tull of the Freeport CID resulted in the arrest of Luke David for the possession of a firearm. The arrest was made after a stop-and-search operation on a silver Nissan AD Wagon owned by David. Sgt Harriot and Cpl Bajan accompanied PC Tull to the Southern Main Road in Chase Village, where they discovered a black metal object with a magazine, resembling a firearm, in a pink bag on the back seat of the vehicle. David was taken into custody along with the exhibit and brought to the Freeport Police Station to face charges for the offense of possession of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing.

Body found in Piparo

A decomposing body was found in Piparo on Wednesday.

ADD News TT understands that at about 12.30 pm on May 10, Vallence Rambarath, leader of the Trinidad and Tobago Hunters Search and Rescue Association, and a team of hunters were searching for a missing person when they discovered a decomposing body in a forested area in Piparo. The body, clad in black 3/4 pants, was found lying on its back with its feet facing west and torso facing east, approximately 200 meters off the roadway near house Pascal Road.

Rambarath immediately reported the discovery to the Princes Town Police Station, and officers from the Tableland Police Station responded. Insp Mohammed, accompanied by Cpl Clarence and PC Bhattan, visited the scene and observed the body. DMO Dr. Daniel also viewed the body and ordered its removal for storage at Nicholas and Sons Funeral Services in Gasparillo, pending post-mortem examination at the Forensics Science Center.

No information has been released on the identity of the deceased, and police continue to investigate the incident.

State witness gunned down in Greenvale:

Uncutt News Media understands that a man identified as Tristan Medina was shot and killed while working on a house at Boyton Avenue, Greenvale.

A white car pulled up and the occupants fired shots at Medina who was taken to the hospital where he subsequently died.
